Manaia Wheua - Bone Manaia PendantManaia, a powerful personal guardian in Mori tradition, embodies mana the concept of personal power, authority, and prestige. Believed to possess ethereal presence and energy, the manaia is thought to protect its wearer. In Mori cosmology, the manaia is often depicted as a guardian of the earth, sea, and sky. This taonga was hand carved by Naki Fehoko from beef bone and has paua eyes. It measures approximately 72 x 36 mm.
